How much does the service cost?

A Photo Folio sites require a one-time set up fee of $1,000 and a monthly hosting fee of $17.

Are there any long-term contracts or cancellation fees?

No. The hosting of your site is month-to-month service. You can cancel at any time. In order to receive a refund of your setup fee when canceling, you must do so within 30 days of purchase.

Is there a discount if I buy more than one website?

Yes. The setup fee for each subsequent website purchase is half ($500). Hosting remains the same.
Email us beforehand and we will refund you after the purchase.

How long until my new site is ready?

After completing purchase, your new site will be setup and you’ll receive a welcome email within one business day.

Can I host the site on my own account?

Yes. There is an extra set up fee associated with this. Email us for details.

What blog system(s) are available?

When your site is set up, we can optionally install a blog powered by WordPress at no additional charge.

Do the sites have an HTML or mobile viewing option?

Every site includes a mirror HTML site and a site optimized for Apple’s iPhone. Both provide additional options for your clients and improved search engine visibility.

Are the sites SEO-friendly?

They are very friendly, in fact. Our team has expertise in optimizing Flash websites for search engines. Here are just a few features that ensure your site will be visible and well-ranked:

  • Easily control your site’s browser title and meta information
  • We use best-practices for embedding Flash content, ensuring search engines crawl your pages and view alternate content
  • Every site includes an HTML mirror site with search engine-friendly URLs and properly tagged images
  • Every site includes a blog installation, which search engines love

Can I switch between designs? If so, what is the cost involved?

Yes, absolutely you can switch between designs. The first change is free. After you have already switched designs once, any subsequent design changes will be $100.

Do the sites allow me to have my site/email attached to my domain name?

Your A Photo Folio site will reside at your domain (jonspictures.com) and will allow you to have associated emails (jon@jonspictures.com).

Can I add my logo?

Yes, you can add your logo or chose from 14 font selections in our preset font library.

Does A Photo Folio customize their sites to specific clients requests?

At this time we will not be taking customization requests. The sites allow for total control by the photographer. You can ‘customize’ the site by changing colors, changing fonts, adding your logo, adding an intro, etc.

How does switching my email over work?

Your email switchover is seamless with zero down time. If you are using POP or IMAP to receive your email you simply create an extra set of settings for the new google apps account (we send you instructions) and as your domain switches over emails will come in from the new settings. If you use an online email client we have instructions on how to extract all your old email so they appear in your new account.

How does switching my domain over work?

Your domain switchover is seamless as well with zero down time. You will have your domain name host change the DNS settings so that your URL will point at our server (where the new site is waiting but not till you’ve completed it). This can take up to 72 hours to complete (because nameservers cache the location of websites to save computing power) so some visitors will see your old site and some will see the new site, depending on where in the world they live.
